activate three or four letters. To
select a specific letter, press the
appropriate key repeatedly until the
desired letter appears. For example,
to type the letter R, press the 7 key
three times.
When the upper or lowercase
alphabetic mode is selected, the
letters and the number on the key
are cycled through when pressing.

5. Type the last name of the person you want to add
to your telephone directory.
• Type the first letter of the person's last name.
The letter will automatically display as an
uppercase character. Once you have entered
the letter, if you wait about 2 sec, the cursor
will automatically move to the next position or
you can press another key to move it instantly.
• Press the SK2 key to select the lowercase
alphabetic mode. The display ab appears in
the top right-hand corner of the display.
• Type in the rest of the letters in the person's
last name.
6. Press the SK1 key to go to the First Name field.
7. Follow the instructions in Step 5 to enter the
person's first name.
8. Press the SK1 key to highlight the Next button.
9. Press the SK2 key. The second telephone directory
screen displays (see Figure 8).

10. Press the Down arrow key to select the type of
number you are going to enter for this entry (i.e.,
telephone number, host name, or IP address).
