! Do not interfere with the operation
of the PTC-1800 during a resume,
reboot, or reset. Allow this process
to complete before pressing any
keys, replacing the battery pack, or
performing any other procedure.
Otherwise, the PTC-1800 may lock
up.
! Do not reboot the PTC-1800 unless
absolutely necessary. Rebooting the
PTC-1800 erases all programs and
data in RAM.

Rebooting/Resetting the PTC-1800

Introduction

If your application locks up (stops responding to the
keyboard), reboot your PTC-1800. If the reboot is
unsuccessful, follow the instructions on the next page
to reset the PTC-1800.

Rebooting the PTC-1800

Overview

Rebooting stops the PTC-1800, resets the unit, and
then restarts (boots) it. When the PTC-1800 starts
again, it returns you to the operating system.

Procedure

1. Hold down the Hold key and press the Send key.
The PTC-1800's Main Menu displays.
2. Press the Down arrow key until Warm Reboot is
highlighted.
3. Press the Send key. The following message
displays: "Are you sure you want to warm boot?"
4. Press the Down arrow key to highlight either Yes
or No.
5. Press the Send key. If you selected Yes, wait for
the PTC-1800 to reboot. If you selected No, the
PTC-1800 will return to the operating system.
