Setting the trim and sub trim

Purpose of trim adjustment

"Trim" is a function of adjusting the servo neu-
tral position. When you try driving after loading a
steering servo, if the model does not run straight,
the steering trim must be adjusted. Also for the
throttle of engine car, the carburetor neutral posi-
tion must be corrected after loading the servo.
Adjustment of the neutral position is required not
only immediately after loading the servo but also
for adapting to change in driving such as wear of
tire and torsion of the chassis.
This unit provides two types of function menu for
this function: "Trim" (center trim) that adjusts only
the neutral position with the ends of operating
angle unchanged and "Sub trim" that moves the
ends of movement angle and the neutral position
together.

Trim (center trim)

When adjusting the neutral position during
driving, change the setting.
The steering trim can be set at "S:TRM" in the
function menu. (See page 15.)
The throttle trim can be set at "T:TRM" in the
function menu. (See page 23.)
Large movement may cause break of right and
left balance. If this case, readjust the sub trim
so that the trim becomes 0.
In the default state, "S:TRM" is assigned to the
ET1 over and "T:TRM" is assigned to the ET2
lever.
The ends of movement
angle do not move.
Only the neutral position
moves.

Sub trim

Adjust the sub trim when loading a servo or
carrying out test driving.
The steering sub trim can be set at "S:SUBTRM"
in the function menu. (See page 17.)
The throttle sub trim can be set at "T:SUBTRM"
in the function menu. (See page 25.)
Load a servo so that the set value of sub trim
does not become large.

Method of setting

Before loading a servo, adjust the center position.
1
To center the trim with a servo loaded, adjust
2
"S:SUBTRM" and "T:SUBTRM."
Carry out test driving to check the neutral
3
state.
If correction is required, adjust the sub trim.
When the neutral position is fixed, use "S:
4
BALANC" to adjust the steering balance so
that the turning radius is the same for the right
and left. (See page 16.)
Use "S:TRAVEL" to adjust the overall steering
5
angle. (See page 16.)
During practice driving or a race, adjust the
6
trim at "S:TRM" and "T:TRM."
If the adjustment value becomes large,
readjust the sub trim so that the trim becomes
0.
Both the ends of move-
ment angle and the
neutral position move
simultaneously.
