Making WLAN Measurements
Making Modulation Analysis Measurements
Steps
1. Turn on the IF Gain.
For signals with power level around -40 dBm
1. Switch the IF Gain to
Low Gain.
2. Turn on the preamplifier.
For signals with power level around -50 dBm or less
1. Switch the IF Gain to
High Gain.
2. Turn on the preamplifier.
Once this has been done, you can save the settings in a file for later recall and
reuse.
When IF Gain setting to Auto, the process may take more time. To achieve
faster measurements, you need to manually set the IF Gain to "High Gain"
or "Low Gain".
Optimizing Equalizer Training Setting
Changing the Equalizer Training from using only the preamble to using the
preamble, pilots, and data may improve EVM measurements. Press Meas
Setup, More, Ad vanced, Eq Training, and select Channel Est Seq & Data.
Calculating the maximum search length for multi-burst signals
WLAN signals in time domain vary in length and spacing. The maximum search
time length is dependent on IF bandwidth of hardware, using the following
equation to calculate the maximum search length for multi-burst signals:
