3.5.4.4 Chemical Dosing, by Flow Control
Tablet chemicals (such as chlorine or bromine) can be dosed as disinfectant or remnant, controlled by PoolCop using timers on
Auxiliary relays 2-6 or by ORP on Auxiliary Relay 6, by means of a flow control valve with 24VAC supply (typically).
Ensure proper installation and functioning of the Flow Control Valve as per manufacturer's instructions.

Connect the electrical supply to the flow control valve via an appropriate PoolCop Auxiliary relay; AUX 6 is recommended if
this is not being used for ORP control.
Configure the appropriate relay:
Ensure that an appropriate daily duration is set.

Ensure that the auxiliary is slaved.

Connect the electrical supply to the flow control valve via PoolCop AUX 6 (same wiring diagram as above but using Aux6)

3.5.4.5 Salt Water Chlorination
3.5.4.5.1
Information and Guidance
Salt water chlorination is effective at disinfecting pool water. A correctly specified salt water chlorination system and installation kit
is required. When salt water chlorination is used for treatment, regular water analysis will be carried out to ensure that salt
consumables and free chlorine levels remain within the required limits. Refer to the manufacturer's guidelines and instructions for
use.
3.5.4.5.2
Installation
Install the salt water chlorinator and associated plumbing as per the manufacturer's instruction and installation manual.
Ensure that the correct quantity of salt consumable is added in the correct manner to the pool water.
Route the power supply for the salt chlorinator via the chosen auxiliary relay in the PSU.
Connect the salt chlorinator to the mains power supply as per the manufacturer's installation manual, ensuring adequate
electrical protection and conformity.
If the chlorinator is compatible, PoolCop Input can be used for LOW SALT and other messages as per 5.8.2.
