3.5.4.1 Timer Control and Programming

Information and Guidance
PoolCop auxiliary relays can be used for timed dosing of chemicals such as chlorine, bromine, active oxygen, PHMB, etc. or for the
timed control of external water treatment systems
External equipment or an ON/OFF dosing pump (peristaltic or electromagnetic) with installation kit is required.
Always follow all the chemical manufacturer's instructions and guidelines for correct usage, handling and

Installation
Install the equipment or dosing pump, associated suction and injection pipes and connectors as per the manufacturer
supplied installation manual.
Ensure that the correct consumable is installed and secured.
Route the power supply for the equipment via the chosen auxiliary relay or relays in the PSU.
Connect the equipment to the mains power supply as per the manufacturer's installation manual, ensuring adequate
electrical protection and conformity.
Testing and priming a dosing pump, if applicable:

Timer Programming
Calculate an appropriate dosing time.
Refer to the instruction manual and pump rate, and the instructions for use of the chemical to be injected.
Generally the larger the pool the higher this set time will be. The volume dosing is calculated as follows:
Dosing Time x Pump Size = Total Dosing Volume
Example: Dose time 3 min, Pump Size 25 ml/min therefore 3 min x 25 ml = 75 ml in 3 minutes.
