3.5.3.1 pH Sensor Calibration
The electrode can be calibrated using pH buffer fluids or liquids of known pH. It is recommended to calibrate pH using an external
buffer liquid or pool water in an isolated container, rather than in the PoolCop itself. This avoids the risk of stray currents in the pool
affecting the calibration sequence.
Calibration procedure is described in the MAINTENANCE MANUAL (procedure SMU_07_EN) downloadable on our internet
website

3.5.3.2 Information and Guidance
The PoolCop has proportional–integral pH Control for dosing; an ON/OFF dosing pump (peristaltic or electromagnetic) and
installation kit is required.
pH Control logic and safety:
The dosing is executed once at the beginning of each filtration. It is recommended to program two daily filtration cycles, to
enable two dosing periods per day. Filtration should be stopped at least 30minutes between 2 filtration cycles to
allow pH algorithm to work properly.
Injection duration is calculated using a proportional-integral algorithm and is expressed as a percentage of maximum
dosing time.
Proportional-integral control logic allows for very safe operations and avoids risk of overdosing.
Setting the maximum possible dosing time is a way to adjust control efficiency. Maximum dosing must be adjusted in
accordance with pool volume, water alkalinity and the dosing pump flow rate to provide best results.
The pH Control relay AUX 7 is protected (loss of valve position, pump off securities, etc.) for safety.
As a security, if the measured pH is lower than 6.0, pH control is stopped until pH increases above 6.9. An Alert message is
displayed prompting for water balance.
3.5.3.3 Installing the Dosing Pump
Install the dosing pump, associated aspiration and injection pipes and connectors as per the dosing pump instruction and
installation manual.
Ensure that the correct liquid consumable pH- or pH+ is installed and secured.
Route the power supply for the dosing pump via AUX 7 in the PSU.
Connect the dosing pump to the mains power supply as per the pump installation manual, ensuring electrical protection and
conformity.
3.5.3.4 pH Control Programming
Refer to 5.4.3 pH Control.
3.5.3.5 Activating pH Control
In the
MANUAL CONTROL
A protection function prevents the pH Control from commencing until pH has been re-measured after
activation of the pH Control function. This manual measurement ensures that the pH Control function
