Usage
► Always maintain sufficient clearance from sources of
heat. If the product is parked for an extended period of
time or the crawler tracks overheat (e. g. in the vicinity
of radiators or in case of exposure to strong sunlight
behind glass), the crawler tracks may become perman
ently deformed.
7.3.2 Driving Notes
General information:
Ottobock recommends retrofitting a lap belt on the
manual wheelchair if not already installed.
Beginners should always drive slowly.
Always take curves slowly.
Uncontrolled driving behaviour may occur on uneven
ground. Therefore the speed must always be adjusted to
the ground conditions.
Driving on hard surfaces results in vibrations; the driving
characteristics are not affected.
Wet crawler tracks make squeaking noises; the driving
characteristics are not affected.
Driving backwards should be limited to manoeuvring or
short distances on level ground.
Obstacles (steps, curbs):
The critical obstacle height is 40 mm. Obstacles higher
than 40 mm may not be crossed.
Always approach obstacles directly from the front (never
at an angle with only one crawler track).

Always drive forward over obstacles.
Always reduce speed to cross over obstacles (e. g.
select speed level 1).
Avoid crossing steps without slowing down.
Lean your upper body forward when crossing obstacles.
Inclines and downgrades:
Ascending or descending slopes up to max. 30 % is
permitted. Driving on steeper inclines or downgrades is
not permitted. Otherwise safe braking is not ensured.
Users with a shifted centre of gravity and/or a lack of
compensating ability should avoid driving on borderline
inclines or downgrades.
In order to navigate downgrades safely, the speed must
be reduced according to the slope (e. g. select speed
level 1).
Never drive downhill backwards.
All terrain driving:
The speed must be reduced in dangerous areas (e. g. select
speed level 1).
