Product Description
The ScoutCrawler outdoor vehicle is not suitable for use in
public road traffic.
The ScoutCrawler outdoor vehicle is intended solely for per­
sonal use as a means of transport operated by people who
are unable to walk or have a walking impediment due to:
Paralysis (tetraplegia, paraplegia, hemiplegia, multiple
sclerosis, spina bifida, cerebral palsy (limited))
Loss of limbs
Limb defect/deformation
Joint contractures/defects (polyarthritis, polyarthrosis)
Diseases such as cardiac/circulatory insufficiency
The ScoutCrawler outdoor vehicle may only be used with
components/options listed on the product order form.
Ottobock assumes no liability for combinations with
accessories from other manufacturers.
The operational safety of the product can only be ensured if
it is used properly in accordance with the information con­
tained in these instructions for use. The user is ultimately
responsible for accident-free operation.
2.2 Area of Application
The ScoutCrawler outdoor vehicle can be combined, at the
factory, with most manual wheelchairs commonly available
in the market.
The individual fitting depends on the following factors:
Body size and body weight (max. load capacity: 145 kg)

Positioning of the user in the manual wheelchair (the
user's limbs must not extend beyond the dimensions of
the outdoor vehicle)
Width of the manual wheelchair (max. drive-in width:
665 mm)
Physical and mental condition of the user
3 Product Description
3.1 Function
The ScoutCrawler outdoor vehicle is a power add-on drive
for manual wheelchairs, suitable for outdoor use on challen­
ging ground conditions (e. g. sand, snow, gravel, grass).
The manual wheelchair is secured on the ScoutCrawler out­
door vehicle with two tyre mounting points and three belt
straps with carabiners.
