1.3.3 Selecting the power unit

WARNUNG:
Use only power units which guarantee reliable isola-
tion of the operating voltages as per IEC 742 / EN
60742 / VDE 0551 with at least 4 kV isolation resist-
ance (protected extra low voltage, PELV). Switch
power packs are permitted, if they guarantee
reliable isolation in accordance with EN 60950 /
VDE 0805.
The current consumption of a CP valve terminal de-
pends on the number of valve coils. We recommend
the following:
• Use only closed-loop power units.
• When selecting the power unit, check whether it pro-
vides sufficient output. If necessary, calculate here
the total current consumption in accordance with the
following table.
• Connect the load voltage for the CPV valve coil via
the EMERGENCY STOP circuit.
The table below shows you how to calculate the total
current consumption of a CPV valve terminal. The
values specified have been rounded up.
