3.5 Diagnosis on the Allen-Bradley DeviceNet

The following bus diagnoses are available:
– Diagnosis via the DeviceNet Scanner
– Diagnosis via the user program
Diagnosis via the DeviceNet Scanner
The CPV valve terminal with direct connection for the
Allen-Bradley DeviceNet reacts on the DeviceNet as re-
gards diagnosis exactly like the DeviceNet slaves.
Special error messages are not output.
Diagnosis via the user program
You can evaluate the Device Failure Table via the user
program. The Device Failure Table is divided into sev-
eral sections. The section Communications Failure Bit-
map is interesting in conjunction with the valve terminal.
In this section, an error bit is set for each DeviceNet
slave when communication between the scanner and
the slaves is interrupted or is faulty.
In the case of the valve terminal, the error bit is set
when:
– the bus connection is interrupted (e.g. plug discon-
nected) or when
– the bus interface is not supplied with voltage.
