5) Coat the threads of the screws for the upper clamp adapter with thread lock (Loctite® 243).
6) Tighten the screws of the clamp adapter to a torque of 4 Nm.
INFORMATION: Always tighten the diagonally opposite screws in sequence. Tighten all screws using
the torque wrench.
7) Carefully connect the plug to the upper clamp adapter.
INFORMATION: Do not bend the pins in the plug.
8) Coat the threads of the screws for the plug with thread lock (Loctite® 243).
9) Tighten the screws for the plug to a torque of 0.1 Nm (see fig. 11).
10) Set the foot component onto the Spring Element and slide it on up to the marking.
INFORMATION: The Spring Element must project from the clamp adapter in order to ensure correct
data transmission.
11) Coat the threads of the screws for the lower clamp adapter with thread lock (Loctite® 243).
12) Tighten the screws for the lower clamp adapter to a torque of 4 Nm.
INFORMATION: Always tighten the diagonally opposite screws in sequence. Tighten all screws using
the torque wrench.

12.2 Replacing the Sensor Ankle

INFORMATION
The product may be exposed to increased loads by the patient.
Shorten the maintenance intervals according to the expected loads, in particular for especially heavy and/or highly
active patients.
The manufacturer requires at least a semi-annual inspection of the product by an authorised O&P professional to
verify functionality and check for wear.
13 Service

INFORMATION
In the interest of user safety and in order to maintain reliability and protect the warranty, a service inspection inter­
val of 24 months must be observed. This service inspection includes an inspection of the sensors and the replace­
ment of wear parts.
The complete orthosis with the battery charger and power supply must be sent in to an authorised Ottobock Ser­
vice centre for the service inspection.

14 Disposal

In some jurisdictions it is not permissible to dispose of these products with unsorted household waste.
Disposal that is not in accordance with the regulations of your country may have a detrimental impact on
health and the environment. Please observe the instructions of your national authority pertaining to return
and collection.
