2.3 Quick Setup

To quickly set up the modem
for immediate use (or to quickly
change the modem's configu-
ration for an alternate mode
of operation), select one of the
factory-preset Quick Setup
configurations. Select the Quick
Setup (Table 1-1) that corresponds
to the application you will use.
When you select a Quick Setup,
the modem automatically sets all
of its options to the settings that
are typically most suitable for your
application. Selecting a Quick
Setup overwrites previously stored
option settings but does not affect
telephone numbers which may be
stored in the modem's memory.
Whether you use a Quick Setup
configuration "as is" or customize it
by changing specific option settings
(Chapter 3), you should begin by
selecting the Quick Setup that
corresponds to your application.

OW TO ELECT A
To select (activate) a Quick Setup
configuration, follow the steps
below. As you do, you may find it
helpful to refer to the LCD flow
chart that is shipped with the
modem.
1. Press the ENT (enter)
pushbutton on the modem's
front panel. Screen 1 of the
MAIN MENU will be displayed:

You will only need to press the
ENT button once if the modem has
just been powered up. Otherwise,
you may have to press the ENT
button two or more times until
screen 1 of the MAIN MENU is
displayed.
[There are two ways to access the
QUICK SETUP menu: QUICK may
be selected from the MAIN MENU,
as described above, or from screen
1 of the SETUP menu. See MAIN
MENU screen 1 and SETUP menu
screen 1 on the LCD flow chart.]
2. Press pushbutton 2. Screen 1
of the QUICK SETUP menu
will be displayed:

2-W DIAL
3. Move to the QUICK SETUP
screen that shows the
configuration you want. Use
the right arrow button to move
from QUICK SETUP screen 1
to the QUICK SETUP screen
for the configuration you want.
You may also use the left arrow
button to move "backward"
through the QUICK SETUP
menu.
