When an option is first selected,
it will flash on and off on the LCD.
However, it will not take effect until
you leave the SETUP menu. Simply
accessing an option screen will not
change the option, so do not be
afraid to experiment with the LCD
and pushbuttons.
Note the following important
points—
• Selected options do not become
active until you leave the
SETUP menu.
• Changing some options will
cause the modem to
automatically reset.

3.3.1 DEC/INC

Several option screens show the
abbreviations DEC and INC on
the bottom line of the LCD display.
This means that the numerical
value shown on the top line (e.g.,
a stored phone number) can
be changed. Selecting DEC
(pushbutton 1) will decrease the
value; selecting INC (pushbutton
3) will increase it.
