6.5 Worklist

Pressing the Worklist button (Figure 6-6) begins a sequence of screens to prepare the system
for assay processing. The Worklist indicates the assays to be run, the presence of SmartKits
and Consumables and lists the assays that have been ordered for the samples placed in the
system. A typical worklist is presented in Figure 6-8. When additional information becomes
available through the loading of SmartKits, Reagent tip packs or the LIS-Link interface, the
screen will be populated with what is known.

When the sample racks loaded with sample tubes are inserted, the laser scanner will
automatically recognize the size of the tubes and their locations and reads the barcode labels.
When the desired samples have been loaded and scanned, the Next Worklist Screen pressing
the button presents the Sample Rack Status screen (Figure 6-7).
