Manual setup AP
Overview
This part allows you to manually configure the encryption settings for the wireless network.
A wireless network uses radio, which is open to the public, as its data transmission medium. If the
wireless network is not protected by necessary measures, any client can connect to the network to
use the resources of the network or access unprotected data over the network. To ensure
communication security, transmission links of wireless networks must be encrypted for protection.
The modem router supports various security modes for network encryption, including Open,
Shared, WPA-PSK, WPA2-PSK, Mixed WPA/WPA2-PSK, and WPA2 Enterprise.
Open/Shared
Open/Shared supports WEP encryption.
WEP is a security mode for data exchange between two devices. Wireless speed can reach 54Mbps
if WEP is used.
