2.1.1 General information

The configuration of the CPX bus node for PROFINET depends
on the control system used.
The basic procedure and the required configuration data are
presented in the following pages.
Note
Every module occupies a certain number of IO bits, bytes
or words in the context of module communication. The
total number of available bytes per CPX terminal is limited.
Please refer to Tab. 2/1 or Tab. 2/2 for the number of
IO bytes occupied.
Also, certain functions, e.g. the IO Diagnostics Interface
(STI), reduce the number of available IO bytes (in favour of
status or diagnostics functions).
Take account of this fact for the planning of your
CPX terminal.
