Note
Use of the diagnostic mode (status bits or IO Diagnostics
Interface) occupies 8 or 16 IO bits and thus reduces the
number of IO bits which are available for the module
communication. In this way, the number of addressable
modules is reduced in favour of additional status or
diagnostics information.
Take account of this fact for the planning of your
CPX terminal.
The DIL switch settings for operating mode and diagnostics
mode must match the bus node selection in the context of a
PLC hardware configuration (see section 2.1.4 and configur
ation example in Fig. 1/4).
1
In the Remote I/O operating mode with IO Diagnostics
Interface diagnostics mode, select a bus node module with
System Table Interface or STI mode identification from the
CPX field devices group.
2
In the Remote I/O operating mode with Status Bits
diagnostics mode, select a bus node module with Status
mode identification from the CPX field devices group.
3
Select a bus node without mode identification in the
Remote I/O without diagnostics operating mode.
4
In the Remote Controller operating mode, select a bus
node module from the CPX Remote Controller field devices
group (separate group, not shown in the screenshot).
