BRAKES
B: OPERATION
1 . PARKING BRAKE APPLICATION
When the parking brake lever is moved back, lever
located on the end of the parking brake cable 1@ moves
strut 30 in the direction of "A" with point "P" utilized as
a fulcrum.
The strut then presses brake shoes ® and 60 against
the drum . These brake shoes utilize a floating design
and are lightly supported by hold-down pins 70 . The
force applied to brake shoe ®, and the reaction force of
"A" applied to brake shoe 5V via point "P" provide
brake application when the shoes are pressed against
the brake drum .
