VMware NIC Teaming Load Balance Mechanism

VMware load balancing can be provisioned using the following methods when using an Avaya switch:
1. Route based on the originating port virtual port id
Default setting
Load balance based on vSwitch port ID
Recommended when no MLT or SMLT is used on an Avaya switch
Recommended when using the VSP 7000 in FI mesh (no SMLT)
2. Route based on IP hash
Load balance based on src/dst IP
Recommended when MLT, DMLT, or SMLT is used on an Avaya switch
3. Route based on source MAC hash
Load balance on vNIC MAC address
Recommended when no MLT or SMLT is used on an Avaya switch
Can be used when using the VSP 7000 in FI mesh (no SMLT)
