2. Install the first appliance into appliance bay 1.
When the appliance is fully seated, it locks into place.

Installing compute modules

Depending on the compute modules for your frame:
• Install device bay partitions
• Install a full-height compute module
• Install a half-height compute module
Installing a full-height compute module
The HPE Synergy 12000 Frame ships with three device bay shelves installed to support a 12 half-height
compute module configuration. To install a full-height compute module, remove the device bay shelves
and corresponding blanks.
