5.1.2 Cleaning the filter unit

For cleaning, the filters are immersed in a container with 1 % sodium
hypochlorite solution as the cleaning solution. The quantity of cleaning
solution required depends on the size of the container used. The filters
must be completely submerged.
The reaction time depends on the amount of contamination and must
be determined empirically for the respective application. Begin with a
reaction time of 15 minutes. Follow the cleaning sequence and extend
the reaction time if necessary.
The amount of cleaning solution required varies depending on the form
and size of the cleaning container.
WARNING
The cleaning solution is corrosive and irritates skin and eyes.
Avoid any contact when dealing with the cleaning solution. Pay at-
tention to the safety datasheets of the chemical manufacturer and
absolutely follow the protective measures specified in them.
Prepare the cleaning solution according to the following table. The
preparation can be carried out directly in the cleaning container.
