Buttons (under Settings)
Reduces the amount of brightness that the LED bumps and buttons emit. Default is 100%
Crossfade Faders (under Settings)
Allows you to alternate crossfader functionality between operating from bottom to top only, or
alternating from bottom to top and then top to bottom, depending on your show playback
preference.
Data Loss (under Settings)
Allows you to choose the resulting action if the DMX In source were to suddenly stop. Keep
will hold all levels at their last received value. Fade Out will bring all levels to zero with a 5
second fade.
Diagnostics
Allows you to display the software version that your SmartFade is currently running.
DMX In > Mode (under Settings)
Merge combines the DMX Input data with the SmartFade's post-patch output. DMX input
data is not mastered in this mode.
To Memory directs the input DMX to fader #1 for master DMX in control. DMX In data cannot
be patched.
DMX Out > Speed (under Settings)
Useful if your DMX device is having trouble reading the constant stream of DMX supplied by
SmartFade. This is often seen as flicker in your lighting devices. You can slow down the
speed to try to alleviate communications errors with other manufacturer's equipment. This
feature will not be needed in the vast majority of applications. Default is set to "Max".
Language
You may choose from four languages (English, French, German, or Spanish) in which the
LCD messages will be displayed.
MIDI Channel (under Settings)
Allows you to select on which MIDI channel to receive/send. Channels 1 - 9 are available. see

Modify Steps (under Sequences)
After selecting the step to modify, you may:
Insert - Allows you to insert a new step after the selected step by pressing any memory/
fader bump. All succeeding steps will be renumbered accordingly.
Change - Allows you to change the selected step by pressing any memory/fader bump
and replacing the previously recorded memory/fader.
Delete - Deletes the selected step.
Edit - Allows you to directly edit the recorded levels of the selected step's associated
memory.
Ins PointQ - Usable only with the STACK (indicated as XF on the LCD), this allows you
to add a step between two other steps, without changing the succeeding step numbers.
Inserted steps will be revealed as point cues of the preceding step (for example 2.1 -
2.9). You may have a total of 199 steps (including point cues) recorded to the STACK.
