Press [MEMS]. Faders with recorded sequences, 21-24 (45-48), light yellow.
Press [RATE]. Faders with recorded sequences, 21-24 (45-48) will blink at full
yellow.
Press the bump button corresponding to the sequence you want to adjust.
Press and hold [RATE]. "Tap BPM with bumps" appears in the LCD window
along with the fade rate %.
Tap the bump button of the sequence you want to adjust at the rate you want to
apply (for example, to coincide with the rhythm of a song).
The fade rate % will automatically drop to 0% (instant). This ensures that fade
times will not interfere with seeing the intended chase. You may readjust the fade
rate % as needed by turning the dial.
When SmartFade has calculated the beats-per-minute (BPM) at which you are
tapping, it will be displayed in the LCD window. The bump button for that
sequence will also flash at this recorded rate. The tap rate is stored as an
override to the recorded timing for all steps in the sequence.
Release [RATE] to return to the main rate display.
You may press [RATE] again to view levels in the LCD window. The rate override
will remain in place.
Ensure RATE is lit. If it is not, press [RATE].
Press the bump of the sequence you wish to remove the override from. If you
want to remove it from the stack, press [STACK].
Press [CLEAR] and [RATE] together to remove all rate overrides (fade, step,
and/or tap tempo) from the selected sequence.
Timing will revert to its recorded times.
Record a stack as described in
page
27.
Using the LCD Menu, go to Sequences>Playback:XF>Step Timing>Tap
Mode>ON.
Play back the stack while following the stage action, pressing [ .. ] at the
precise time for a desired cue to occur. SmartFade will record the time between
presses of [ .. ] as wait times between cues.
When you have completed running through the stack, turn off Tap Mode by the
same path as Step 2 above (Tap Mode>Off).
When you play back the stack, the steps will automatically play back according
to the wait times recorded in step 4.
Wait times for steps recorded in this manner may be edited as described in
Upfade, Downfade, and Wait times, page
