Attention may now b e turn,ed t o t h e Carburetters, which must be
removed after uncoupling the Petrol pipe, throttle a n d mixture controls, but
it is not necessary to dismantle the Inlet Manifold.
R,elease the W a t e r Manifold by undoing the three attachm,ent clips
shown in Illustration N o .

a n d then proceed t o detach the F r o n t Exhaust
P i p e b e f o ~ e removing the W a t e r and Exhaust Manifolds in turn.

After removal of the manifolds, dismantling may be continu,ed as
follows
:-
Uncouple the oil deliv,ery pipe from th.e cylinder head (near sidse
forward) by unscnewing the single retaining bolt, a n d withdraw the
oil restrictor, t o avoid risk of loss when the head is subs,equently
removed.
Uncoupl,e the oil rmeturn p i p e at the frotzt of the engine by unscrewing
the two nuts only-it
n'eed not b e withdrawn f r o m its studs as it
will draw straight off when the head is lifted.
R e m o v e bodily t h e oil return pipe at the rear of the engine by un-
screwing th'e retaining nuts at top a n d bottom, taking cane not t o
lose the washers.
