O n the 2-Se:~ter Model this fairing is fixed hy a clip :~tt:lched to the front
cross tuhe which is located by a hexagon hc:lded stud protruding t h r o t ~ ~ l i the
fairing directly helo\\~ the louvring.

O n the 3-Se:~ter Model the equipment is kept in the space directly hehind
the seats, suit:ihle strips and clips heing provided for fixing purposes.
Tyres.
T h e Tyres heing one of the most expensi\.e items in the upkeep
of :I Car, should recei\,e spccial attention in order that ~ o u may receive the
utmost service from them.
T h e most important factor is the maintenance of the correct air pressure,
:ind this should he checked regularly in all five tyres with
n
reliable pressure
gauge once every week, whether the car is used o r not.
Remember t h : ~ t i t
is the air that carries the load.
Dunlop Tyres, 4.00" for
19"
rims nre fitted to the M . G . Midget, : ~ n d the
makers recommended pressures are as follows :-
Front iliheels, 27 Ibs. per square inch.
Rear Wheels, 37 Ibs. per square inch.
'These pressures relate to

car with the two front seats occupied.
When
rear seats arc occupied pressure should be increased in the rear tyres to
about
30
Ibs.
Oil
and Grease.
Tyres should never he allowed to stand in a pool of oil,
grease o r petrol,

these substances are detrimentnl in their effects on rubber.
Any oil o r gre:~se should be removed fronl the tyre as soon

T O Remove Tyre.
First deflate h, renloving all the valve parts and pus11
both cover edges into the \vcll of the rim at the part diametric:tIly opposite
the valve, then lever the cover edges nc:lr the valve over the rim edge.
N o
force is required to
do
this, but the edges of the cover opposite the \.:~lve must
be i n the well of the rim.
T O Fit Tyre.
l'ush one edge of the cover over the cdge of the rim.

the part first put on is pushrd right down into the well
of the rim.
Ver!. slightly inflate the inner tuhe,

Fit
