T h e p u m p draws its supply of oil f r o m t h e b o t t o m of t h e s u m p t h r o u g h
a n internal filter and large d i a m e t e r suction p i p e and dclivers oil at high
pressure i n t o a n intern:~l oil d u c t , which runs across t o t h e off side of t h e
engine, w h e r e it feeds i n t o t h e forward e n d of a n o t h e r internal d u c t r u n n i n g
t o t h e rear crankshaft bearing.
Oil
grooves in this h e ~ ~ r i n g and drilled passages
in t h e crankshaft conduct t h e oil t o each big-end. 'l'hese a r e in consequ,ence
f e d with oil u n d e r high pressure. A n external p i p e f r o m t h e p u m p delivery
duct ,extends vertically t o t h e cylinder head

The Oil Restrictor.
The

O i l passing t h e pin enters a drilled passage in t h e cylinder head which
registers with a similar pass:lge drilled
in t h e front camshaft bearing hracket,
communicating with t h e camshaft bearing itself a n d e : ~ c h of t h e valve
rocker shafts. T h e val\.e rocker sh:~fts a r e drilled at interv:rIs t o correspond
with t h e valve rock,ers, whose bushes a r e grooved, feeding drilled passages
in t h e rocker-arms which lu0ricat.e t h e faces.
