I/O Fan

This section covers removal and replacement of the I/O fan.

Removal of I/O Fan

1. If you have not already done so, shut down the system as described in "Stopping
the System Unit" on page 224.
2. If you have not already done so, unplug the system unit power cable from the
electrical outlet.
3. If you have not already done so, remove the front cover as described in "Removal
of Covers" on page 226.
4. Remove the retaining screws that secure the I/O fan assembly to the system unit.
5. Slide the I/O fan assembly out of the system unit.
6. Disconnect the power cable from the fan connector (J3) from the I/O board.

Replacement of I/O Fan

Perform the removal steps in the reverse order.
