◆ Iris authentication function
The terminal is equipped with the iris authentication function
that performs security authentication with the owners iris
registered in advance.

Precautions when using a camera for iris
authentication and LED
Precautions when using a camera for iris authentication and
LED are as follows.
･
Do not place your eyes closer than 20 cm from the terminal
while the iris authentication LED is lit.
･
The camera for iris authentication is waterproof, however
malfunction may occur if water or dirt adheres to the surface
of the camera for iris authentication. When the iris
registration or authentication fails often, wipe any water or
dirt surface with a dry, soft and static-free cloth. The
phenomenon may be improved.
･
The following conditions may cause failure or damage:
- Strike or give a hard shock
- Scratch or pick with a pointed object
- Rub hard with a fingernail or hard object such as metal
piece of strap and scratch the surface of the camera for iris
authentication
- Scratch or stain the surface of the camera for iris
authentication or LED with soil etc.
- Cover with a sticker or paint with ink etc.

The following conditions may make iris authentication
scanning difficult or reduce the authentication performance
and the function may not be available. Clean occasionally
the camera for iris authentication, LED, and peripheral of the
proximity sensor (the front upper side of the terminal).
- Dirt of dust, sebum, etc. attachment or condensation of
moisture of sweat etc.

Precautions for registering iris
Precautions for registering iris are as follows:

If you wear glasses, remove them to register (you can wear
glasses at authentication).
･
Remove sunglasses, color contacts, or circle lenses to
register.
･
Register at an indoor location with no direct sunlight.
･
When registration takes time, open your eyes wide to
increase the scanning precision.
･
Hold the terminal up to your eye level.
･
Keep a distance of around 25 cm between the terminal and
your eyes.

Make sure there is no dirt or damage on the camera for iris
authentication.→P139

The iris registration is available for one eye. However, both
eyes registration is recommended for ensuring highly
precise authentication.

The iris registration can be added for the improvement of
precision at authentication. However, avoid adding iris
registrations of multiple persons because the authentication
of yours may not be available. Also, the additional
registration may not give the stronger effect because the
precision improvement has a limitation.
･
Iris authentication technology does not guarantee complete
identity authentication or verification. Note that DOCOMO
assumes no responsibility for any damage caused by use of
this terminal or unavailability of this terminal.
