Error Messages

If you have failed to operate the typewriter or any error has happened, the
corresponding error message appears on the display. Error messages are
classified by function and arranged in alphabetical order.
.4 BAD DISK
You cannot read out (selecting a file from the file list) or write on
(formatting) the damaged o r uninitialized disk. Replace the disk with
another one or initialize the disk.
A BAD DISK -> PRESS '« J • (RETRY) / 'D E L E T E ' (DELETE) / 'EN D '
(STORE)
The damaged o r uninitialized disk is now in the disk drive. Insert the disk
and press the
Press the C O D E + 2 (D ELETE) keys to delete the current editing file.
Or press the END key to save it into the internal memory.
A BATTERY LOW AND BACKUP M EM O RY CLEARED
The voltage check function at startup shows that the lithium battery is
too weak to retain the data in the memory. The memory is cleared.
Install a new one. Refer to the section "Lithium Battery."
A BATTERY LO W AND TURNING UNIT O FF W ILL CAUSE
MEMORY LOSS
The voltage check function works at startup and during operation and
checks that the lithium battery is about to go dead. When you turn off the
unit, the backup-memory may be cleared. Replace with a new battery
with the power kept on. Refer to the section "Lithium Battery."
A CH ECK PR IN TE R
The printer mechanism has some problem. Turn the power off and on
again. If the problem is not removed, contact the service agent where you
purchased the typewriter.
A C OM PLETED
The find function or word add function is completed for the electronic
spelling dictionary.
A COVER OPEN
The top cover is not completely closed. Close the cover securely.
A D IFFER EN T KB IV SETTIN G INCLUDED
You cannot use the temporary memory or phrase memory that contains
the different KB IV setting from the current editing file.
ad DISK CHANGED AND OPERA TIO N CANCELED
• You cannot execute the operation while the display shows the file list of
the different disk from the one in the drive.
I (Return) key. Press the ESC key to return to the edit.
