TRANSMISSION
16. Install the sector gear (16T) onto the shift drum shaft.
Install the shift shaft assembly and sector gear (11T)
into the bushing pocket on the left side. Align the
timing marks on the gears as shown.

17. Install the detent star
sure to install the detent star with the with shorter hub
facing outward and skip-tooth aligned.
18. Install the detent pawl

19. Install a new O-ring
small amount of white lithium grease on the O-rings,
shift shafts and component contact surfaces prior to
installing the sector cover.
20. Clean the transmission and gear sector cover mating
surfaces thoroughly.
21. Apply Loctite® 680 Sealant (PN: 3233901) onto the
cover and transmission case mating surface.
22. Install the sector cover and align the transmission

case dowel with the alignment hole. Install and
torque the bolts to specification.
TORQUE
Sector Cover Bolts:
10 ft-lbs (14 Nm)
Fill / Drain Plug:
12 ft-lbs (16 Nm)
Bell Crank Nut:
14 ft-lbs (19 Nm)
23. Install the transmission drain plug and torque to
specification.
24. Install the bellcrank onto the shift shaft. Note the key
splined on the bellcrank and shift shaft. Install the nut
and torque to specification.
25. Refer to Transmission Installation, page 6.12 to
complete the repair.
