Causes
The right front cover is
open.
Internal unit is a service
replacement part.
Regular maintenance is
needed.
An error has occurred.
The cassette is not
loaded.
The cassette of the
specified size is not set.
The machine is too hot or
cold at start-up.
The top cover is open.
A used ink collector unit
was installed.
A used ink cartridge was
installed.
Solutions
Close the right front cover.
See page 230 "Cover Open".
For details about internal unit replacement,
contact your sales or service representative.
Clean both the Maintenance Unit and the
print head.
See page 133 "Clean Maint Unit" and
page 136 "Auto Head Maint.".
Turn the machine off and then on. If the
message reappears, contact your sales or
service representative.
Load the cassette on the cassette stand.
Change the print size. For details, see
page 87 "Selecting the Cassette Size and
Direction". To continue printing without size
mismatch, press the [Tray] key.
Wait until "Ready" appears on the display.
Close the top cover.

Install a new ink collector unit.
