Determining EEE Capability

To determine whether a line card supports EEE, use the show interface capabilities module module
command, as follows:
Switch# show interface capabilities module 3
GigabitEthernet3/1

Speed:
Duplex:

EEE:
Enabling EEE
To enable EEE on a given port, use the power efficient-ethernet auto command.

Switch(config-if)# power efficient-ethernet auto

Switch(config-if)# exit
The following example shows how to enable EEE:

Determining EEE Status
To determine EEE status use the show platform software interface interface status command:
The following example determines EEE status:
Switch(config)# show platform software interface g2/1 status

EEE: Disabled
