Configuring Your Switch for Network Assistant
This section includes the following topics:
(Minimum) Required Configuration
If you use the default configuration, access the Catalyst 4500 series switch and enter the ip http server
(for HTTP) or ip http secure-server (for HTTPS) global configuration command.
To configure the Catalyst 4500 series switch, perform this task:

Configuring the Catalyst 4500 Series Switch with Cisco Network Assistant
Functions
Configures additional VTYs for use by Cisco
Network Assistant.
Displays the Cisco IOS release.
Displays the switch configuration.
Creates a VTP domain to manage VLANs.
Sets the behavior for VTP management of the
VLANs.
Purpose
Enters global configuration mode.
(HTTP only) Enables the HTTP server on the switch. By
default, the HTTP server is disabled.
Enables the domain name on the switch to configure HTTPS.
Enables the HTTPS server on the switch. By default, the
HTTPS server is disabled.
Configures the maximum concurrent connections to the
HTTP server.
A connection_number of 16 is recommended.
