Introduction
The Elite-4i Zero-Footprint-PC incorporates Intel's Pentium 4 or Celeron /
Celeron-D Processor in the 478-pin FC-PGA2 package, plugs into the Zero Insertion
Force (ZIF) mPGA478B socket, providing 64-bit FSB frequencies of 400, 533 or 800
MHz with Hyper-Threading Technology supported and 128-bit wide Dual-Channel
DDR memory interface providing 32-bit addressing for access to 2 GB of memory
space, at 266 MHz, 333 MHz or 400 MHz memory speed.
By integrating the Ultra AGP technology and advanced 128-bit graphic display
interface, the Elite-4i delivers AGP 8X performance and on-chip 2D/3D graphics
accelerator. The unit also provides powerful DVD hardware decoding to improve
the DVD playback performance. In addition to providing the standard interface for
CRT monitors, Elite-4i also optionally provides a Digital Video Interface Port (DVI)
to a digital flat panel monitor.
The unit supports 350 MHz integrated 24-bit RAMDAC, up to 2048x1536 @ 75 Hz
for Analog Monitor. It also supports flat panels up to 2048x1536 @ 60 Hz or digital
CRT/HDTV at 1920x1080 @ 85 Hz (Selected Model)
The Elite-4i Zero-Footprint-PC provides a total communication solution including
Giga LAN or 10/100Mbps Fast Ethernet for networking requirements. The Elite-4i
also offers an AC'97 compliant interface that combines a digital audio engine with
3D-hardware accelerator, an on-chip sample rate converter, and a professional
wavetable along with separate modem and DMA controllers.
The Elite-4i contains an EHCI 1.0 compliant host controller that supports USB
high-speed signaling, delivers data transfers up to 480 Mb/s which is 40 times faster
than full-speed USB; the unit also contains four Universal Host Controller Interface
(UHCI) controllers that support USB full-speed and low-speed signaling. The
Elite-4i routed two internal and six external USB 2.0 ports. All eight ports are
high-speed, full-speed, and low-speed capable.
The built-in fast PCI IDE controller supports the ATA/ATAPI, PIO/DMA, and the
Ultra DMA33/66/100 function that supports a data transfer rate of up to 100 MB/sec.
It provides independent data paths for two IDE channels that can significantly
improve system performance in a multi-tasking environment.
