Configuring RMON Collection Statistics

To enable RMON MIB statistics collection on an interface, use the RMON collection statistics
command in INTERFACE CONFIGURATION mode.
Enable RMON MIB statistics collection.
CONFIGURATION INTERFACE (config-if) mode
[no] rmon collection statistics {controlEntry integer} [owner ownername]
controlEntry: specifies the RMON group of statistics using a value.
integer: a value from 1 to 65,535 that identifies the RMON Statistics Table. The value must be
unique in the RMON Statistic Table.
owner: (Optional) specifies the name of the owner of the RMON group of statistics.
ownername: (Optional) records the name of the owner of the RMON group of statistics. The default
is a null-terminated string.
Example of the rmon collection statistics Command
To remove a specified RMON statistics collection, use the no form of this command.
The following command example enables the RMON statistics collection on the interface, with an ID value of
20 and an owner of john.
Dell(conf-if-mgmt)#rmon collection statistics controlEntry 20 owner john

Configuring the RMON Collection History

To enable the RMON MIB history group of statistics collection on an interface, use the rmon collection
history command in INTERFACE CONFIGURATION mode.
Configure the RMON MIB history group of statistics collection.
CONFIGURATION INTERFACE (config-if) mode
[no] rmon collection history {controlEntry integer} [owner ownername] [buckets
bucket-number] [interval seconds]
controlEntry: specifies the RMON group of statistics using a value.
integer: a value from 1 to 65,535 that identifies the RMON group of statistics. The value must be a
unique index in the RMON History Table.
owner: (Optional) specifies the name of the owner of the RMON group of statistics. The default is a
null-terminated string.
ownername: (Optional) records the name of the owner of the RMON group of statistics.
buckets: (Optional) specifies the maximum number of buckets desired for the RMON collection
history group of statistics.
