Tighten the steering shaft holder bolts to the specified torque.
" Steering shaft holder bolt: 23 N•m (2.3 kgf-m, 16.5 lb-ft)
NOTE:
Make sure that the wiring harness, cables and brake hose rout-
ing are properly. (!9-12 to -14)
Degrease the tapered portions of the tie rod ends with non-
flammable cleaning solvent.
TIE ROD
Install the washers and tighten the tie rod end nuts to the
specified torque.
" Tie rod end nut: 29 N•m (2.9 kgf-m, 21.0 lb-ft)
Install new cotter pins.
$
Replace the removed cotter pins with new ones.
NOTE:
When installing the tie rod, make sure the narrow end 1 of the
tie rod comes out.
$
The locknuts 2 with a yellow finished surface have
left-hand threads.
HANDLEBARS
When installing the lower handlebar holder 1 to the steering
shaft, the higher mating portion must face to forward.
Set the handlebars to match its punched mark 2 to the mat-
ing face of the handlebar clamps.
First tighten the bolts 3 to the specified torque and then
tighten the bolts 4 to the specified torque.
" Handlebar clamp bolt: 23 N•m (2.3 kgf-m, 16.5 lb-ft)
