REVERSE SENSING SYSTEM

CRUSH HAZARD. Running into persons or objects can cause death, serious injury, or
damage to property and equipment. Always check mirrors and area behind vehicle
before and when backing up. Reverse systems are for supplementary use only.
The reverse sensing system provides audible indication of objects to rear of unit while in
reverse gear.
• Alarm sounds signaling machine is placed in reverse gear.
Note: Reverse Sensing System detects objects larger than 36 square inches (232.25 square
centimeters) area and is functional when machine is moving in reverse direction.
• No alarm when detection zone is clear of objects.
• Pulsing alarm sounds when an object is in range of Reverse Sensing System. Alarm
increases in frequency as object becomes closer.
• If alarm sounds at a frequency of eight pulses per second (8 Hz) an object is detected
within 5 feet (1.5 m). Stop reverse direction of machine by applying service brake.
Perform "Shut-Down Procedure" on page 4-4. Check and clear area behind machine of
objects before proceeding in a reverse direction.
