NOTE: Do not attempt to disassemble the oil
pump housing assembly. It is serviceable only as a
complete unit.
2. Apply engine oil to the mating surfaces of the
inner and outer rotors; then align the groove (5) of
the inner rotor with the pin (4) of the shaft and
install the inner rotor.
3. Install the outer rotor.

CRANK BALANCER DRIVEN GEAR

1. Remove the nut and large flat washer from the
crank balancer shaft; then remove the driven gear.

4. Inner Race
5. Pin
6. Spring
7. Bearing
8. Pin
9. Balancer
2. Separate the driven gear from the driven gear inner
race and account for four springs and two pins.

3. Measure the free length of the springs. If any
spring free length is less than 10.3 mm (0.41 in.),
replace all four springs.
4. Assemble the balancer driven gear noting the posi-
tion of the two pins (A) and alignment of the two
punch marks.

NOTE: Whenever a part is worn excessively,
cracked, damaged in any way, or out of tolerance,
replacement is necessary.

CRANKCASE

(Cleaning and Inspecting)
1. Remove the oil sump filter and clean using com-
pressed air; then align the oil passage holes and
install the sump filter.
