2. Using a suitable magnet, remove the tappets (3)
and the shims (4).
3. Using a valve spring compressor and special
adapter to compress the valve springs, remove the
valve cotters (1) from the valve stems.
NOTE: Keep valve, tappets, springs, and cotters
together and note the location from which they
came on the cylinder head.

4. Remove the valve spring retainer (2) and the valve
spring (3); then remove the valve (4).
5. Remove the oil seal with a needle-nose pliers; then
remove the valve spring seat.
