4. HOw TO OpERATE THE COMMON fUNCTIONS
The common functons are operated n the same way regardless of the model of sewng machne. (The
screen dsplay vares dependng on the model of sewng machne.)
4-1. Bobbin counter
The number of sttches sewn by the sewng machne s detected. The detected number of sttches s decremented from the
preset counter value (n unts of the number of sttches preset usng functon settng No. "Unt of bobbn thread countng
down." When the counter value changes from the postve value to the negatve value (...→ → 0 → -), the buzzer sounds (3
sets of two consecutive blips) and the notification is shown on the popup window to alert the operator to change the bobbin.

3) Once the initial value is specified, start the sew-
ng machne.
4) When a mnus value s shown on the counter,
the buzzer peeps three tmes and the pop-up
dsplay appears, replace the bobbn thread.
5) After the bobbn thread has been properly replaced, press counter reset swtch 3 to return the value on
the bobbn thread counter to the ntal value. Now, re-start the sewng machne.
) If the remanng amount of bobbn thread s excessve or the bobbn thread runs out before the bobbn
thread counter ndcates a mnus value, adjust the ntal value approprately usng counter value settng
swtches 4 and 5 .
If the remanng amount of bobbn thread s excessve ..... Increase the ntal value usng the "+" swtch.
If the remaining amount of bobbin thread is insufficient .... Decrease the ntal value usng "–" swtch.
1. The remaining amount of thread may vary depending on how the thread is wound on the bob-
bin and the material thickness. It is therefore better to set the remaining amount of thread
with a slight allowance.
2. If the bobbin thread counter is used in combination with the bobbin thread remaining amount
detecting device, the bobbin thread counter indicates the number of detections of the bobbin
thread remaining amount detecting device. So, be sure to use the device after carefully read-
ing the Instruction Manual for the bobbin thread remaining amount detecting device.

The table below gves the ntal settng values for refer-
ence when the bobbn s wound wth thread to the ex-
tent that the pnhole n the outsde of the bobbn case s
reached as shown in the figure on the left side.

change over the screen to the counter screen.
Press swtch 2 to select the bobbn counter. Then,
press counter reset swtch 3 to return the bobbn
counter dsplay to the ntal set value (set value at
the tme of delvery s "0").
The bobbin thread counter cannot be re-
set during sewing. In this case, make the
thread trimmer actuate once.
