Appendix G Deleting the Password

This Appendix explains how to delete the user password. When you troubleshoot a system, if there
is a problem with the password or if the password is forgotten, you must delete it.
Tools
To delete the password, the following tools are required:
A printer wraparound connector
A parallel cable (standard equipment)
Deleting the Password
1. Set the system to Boot Mode.
2. Turn off the power to the computer.
3. Connect the parallel cable to the PRT port.
4. Connect the printer wraparound connector to the parallel cable.
5. Turn on the power to the computer. When the OS is loaded, the password is automati-
cally removed.
6. Remove the printer wraparound connector and parallel cable.
