Chapter 6 Installing Internal Options
How to remove the power supply unit

Turn off the server and all peripheral devices. Also unplug the power cable from
the inlet at the back.

Pressing the green lever, remove the PSU.
Pull out the PSU by holding the handle with one hand and supporting the PSU with the other
hand.

Install a new PSU or a dummy unit.

6.8.4 Replacing the PSU during Redundant Operation

When the redundant function for the system power supply is enabled, if one PSU fails, the defective
PSU can be replaced without shutting down the server.
Be sure to install a new PSU after removing the defective PSU.

Unplug the power cable from the failed PSU inlet.

• Areas around the PSU may remain extremely hot after shutdown. Wait for a
while after shutdown before removing the PSU.
