Diagnostic Resolutions

The diagnostic resolution strategies described in this section are similar to those found in the RAS ticket on
the operator panel interface. The diagnostic resolution strategy instructions are available to the library's
administrative users.
DR001 - Resolve Picker Cartridge Presence
This DR provides customer resolution steps for
Problem: The library has a tape in the Picker Assembly, but cannot recover without user intervention to
remove the tape cartridge.

Take all library partitions offline.

Open the library main access doors.

Rotate the picker assembly by hand, so that the opening faces the drives.

Use the gear thumbwheel in the rear of the picker assembly base to manually slide the tape cartridge
out of the picker assembly toward the tape drives.

Close the library main access doors. Wait for the library to initialize.

Import the tape into the appropriate partition.

If a tape cartridge was removed, continue operations.

If there was no tape cartridge in the picker assembly, it is most likely that the tape presence sensor in
the picker assembly is malfunctioning. Contact Service for assistance.

You have three options:
a. Select Close to close the ticket now.
b. Select Exit to leave the ticket open for future troubleshooting.
c. Select Back to return to the Diagnostic Resolution.
