PowerVault ML6000 Maintenance Guide
GUI Description: An I/E station door configured for storage is open.
Explanation: Certain I/E station doors can be designated as storage slots.
When one of these doors is open, the system should not become operational,
because these storage slots would not be available to the robot. The RAS
ticket is posted as a means of informing the user that the library cannot
become operational, and that they should close the door, so the system can
lock it and start using it.
• When the main doors are closed and the robot attempts to initialize, the state
of "I/E Storage Doors" will be checked.
• When the library powers up and the robot attempts to initialize, the state of
the "I/E Storage Doors" will be checked.
• I/E station storage door is left open by user.
• Hardware failure in the I/E station door open/closed sensing.
• Stuck lock assembly sensor switches.
1 Perform

2 Clear the RAS ticket. Inspect all doors on the front of the library to ensure
that they are closed.
3 Inspect the module terminators and module-to-module cables for loose
connectors or damage (bent or broken pins). If damaged, replace the part.
Reseat the terminators and cables.
4 Inspect the I/E station door and slide assembly for any obstructions and
verify that it is seated properly.
Note: Read and perform all resolution steps before dispatching any parts.
Dispatch the first part listed below for replacement. If this does not solve the
problem, dispatch the second part, and so on, in order. Dispatch only one part
(or set of parts) at a time.
