Selecting Your Network Environment

The printer can be shared by users across multiple platforms and
environments; Windows 98/95, Windows 2000/NT, Macintosh,
OS/2, UNIX, and Novell NetWare.
To use the printer on the network, you need to configure the
printer for your network environment. The configuration utility
you should use depends on your operating system.
❏ NetWare users
Use EpsonNet WinAssist.
❏ Windows 98/95/2000/NT users
Use EpsonNet WinAssist or the printer's control panel.
❏ Macintosh users
Use EpsonNet MacAssist. Adobe PostScript 3 Kit is needed to
print from a Macintosh.
❏ OS/2 or UNIX users
Use the printer's control panel or the arp/ping command to
set the IP address. Then you can use EpsonNet WebAssist for
configuration.
You must set an IP address for the Internal Print Server first,
except in a NetWare environment, which uses the IPX protocol.
For Windows 98/95/2000/NT/Macintosh users, see "Setting the
IP Address Using EpsonNet WinAssist/MacAssist" on page 2-8.
For OS/2 and UNIX users, see "Setting the IP Address on the
Printer's Control Panel" on page 2-6 or "Setting the IP Address
Using the arp/ping Command" on page 2-12.
Note:
❏ For Windows 98/95/2000/NT/Macintosh users, you can also use
the printer's control panel to set the IP address; however, it is easier
to use EpsonNet WinAssist or MacAssist to set the IP address and
to make other settings.
