The Media Vacuum System
Vacuum Pump Time-Out
By default the vacuum pump will time-out and turn off after it has been on for 30
minutes. However, the operator can configure the User Interface Software to set the
timeout value to be any value between 0 and 30 minutes, in increments of 5 minutes.
Note: The cooling fans in the vacuum pump enclosure will continue to run for a
period of 5 minutes after the vacuum pump is turned off.
How to Maintain the Vacuum Overlay Sheet
If an overlay sheet is damaged, replace it. The overlay is a consumable item and can
be ordered from your local service representative.
If ink build-up occurs on the overlay sheet, remove it. If it is not removed, the print
gap could be affected and this may affect the vacuum table's ability to secure the
media properly. To remove ink we recommend that you use a paint scraper
containing a straight edge razor blade (these can be found at a local hardware store).
Refer to the Maintenance section for more detailed instructions.
