How to Upgrade the Firmware and Software

Procedure
1) Click the Upgrade
tab.
2) Click the Share
button on the toolbar.
3) Go the Customer
Support web site: (see
above)
4) Compare revision
numbers
5) Right-click on the
upgrade package link
6) Select "Save target
as..."
7) Navigate to the
shared folder
8) Click on the Save
button
9) Select the package
and click on Iinstall
toolbar button to start
installation.
10) Click the Unshare
button on the toolbar

Result
The Upgrade and Installation screen is displayed.
The 'Installation share status:' will change to 'Open'. This
means that the printer's upgrade folder is now shared and
available to access from the network. The name of the
shared network resource (printer name and upgrade fold-
er) is displayed after 'Installation share name'.
From another computer on the same network as the print-
er, browse to the Customer Support web site.
Note: If someone clicks on a tab or Unshares
the shared folder before the upgrade package
is downloaded, the folder is no longer shared.
Look at the Upgrade screen on the printer 'Installed
firmware\software:' then see if there is a version with a
higher number on the web site. Proceed if there is a newer
version.
Look for Software / Firmware Upgrade in the left col-
umn.
This brings up the download dialog box.
Use the name of the printer and folder shown after 'Instal-
lation share name' to drop a new upgrade package there.
This is located under My Network Places.
A new package is displayed in the upgrade packages list.
The installation will take few moments to finish. After in-
tallation is finished, the application will start automati-
cally.
To prevent possible malicious software or viruses from
entering the printer, it is a good practice to unshare re-
source when you do not need it anymore. You can also
click on a tab to move the UI to another module to close
down the share.
