The gap between pump cover and rotor ass'y to be max. 0,2 mm (0,008 in.).
A bigger gap greatly reduces pump capacitiy. At notice-able furrows on mating faces of
revolving piston and rotor, renew both components. Remove pressure control valve, clean it
and inspect ball seat in pump housing. Clear all oil passages by compressed air.

The oil level may be max. from 300 mm (12 in.) below up to 100 mm (4 in.) above
crankshaft cenre. If tank is fitted any higher, oil might rickle by gravity into the
crankcase at longer engine stops.
Nominal oil pressure is 3,5 bar (51 p.s.i.) at 5500 rpm and oil temp. of I l0o C (230'
F). At idle speed, pressure drops to 1,5 bu (22p.s.i.). Oil pressure has to raise within
10 seconds after engine start.

be stopped and the oil supply line to the oil pump to be vented as follows:
First block oil return line by clamp and then connect compressed air (max. 3 bar =
46 p.s.i.) to venting line. Oil will be pushed from the oil tank to the oil pump within
30 sec.
Remove clamp from oil return line and reconnect vent line.
