6.9) Ignition cover
Twoversions are inproduction, eitherwith orwithoutdriveformechanicalrev-counter. Visual
inspection of sealing face. Checkand clearoil ductforfree passage by compressed air. Measure
bore32 mm (1,260 in.) of crankshaft bearing.

The exchange of the bearing bush is not planned because the final machining of the bush and
oil bore O is carried out with bush pressed in position. At renewal of bush @ because of wear,
exchange cover ass'y (cover with bush) or send the unit for repair to ROTAX.
Check oil seal @ 32x52x7, exchange as
required (SimmerA 32-57-7 LDR) using
punch 877 270.
Visual check for emergence of water or
oil at leakage bore @. Check rotary seal.
Renew rotary seal 6 and oil seal @ at
emergence of fluid. Inspect seat ring O
for electric starter.
6.10) Dis-assembly of water pump
It is an advantage to slacken impeller already at dis-ass'y of engine whilst crankshaft is locked.
Otherwise lock pump drive gear @ with suit-
able tool. Always use spannerinsenSTT 295 at
removal and fi tting of impeller to prcventdam-
age to blades of impeller. Place ignition cover
on suitable plane face and push out water pump
shaft using appropriate punch 9. Withdraw
drive gear.
